Making Cents is a small woman-owned business that offers entrepreneurship curriculum, training, and consulting on program design. Since 1998, Making Cents has been working in partnership with schools and organizations to strengthen their capacity to effectively meet the needs of a broad range of future entrepreneurs. Our curricula targets youth from the second grade through college and emphasizes experiential learning, which allows students to "discover" business concepts rather than "study" these ideas through the traditional means. Making Cents' professional development courses, which train teachers on Making Cent's curriculum, also inspire teachers to take a more hands-on, group-based method of teaching, while still effectively teaching core theory. YOUTH VENTURE Youth Venture's mission is to mobilize young people to develop their own opportunities for leadership through the creation and operation of organizations that meet their needs. These organizations fall into three categories: community service organizations, small business ventures, or after-school clubs. What turns these diverse activities into Youth Ventures is that the young people themselves come up with the ideas and control the initiatives.

Youth Ventures seeks out Allies (individuals who like working directly with young people) who can encourage and support young peoples efforts to create without controlling them. We also work with local partners (community leaders, school principals, heads of youth groups) to change rules and provide seed money to start the ventures. The purpose of this web page is to identify their philosophy and major contacts. Contact their web page www.youthventure.org
